Jane Richard Philips was born in Evilard, Switzerland. None of her family rode horses so she only began riding as a teenager.
At sixteen, Jane jumped in her first Grand Prix in Rosental before going on to compete as part of the Swiss Junior and Young Rider teams. Jane has trained with Germany's Willi Melliger, Switerland's Pius Schwizer and USA's George Morris. In 2006 she moved to Italy to the stables of her husband Ignace Philips.
One of her proudest achievements so far is when she finished in 14th place in the FEI World Cup Final in 2010. Her ambition is to compete at the Olympics.
